meta-amb
by Kevron Rees
Just letting the list know there is a meta-amb project[1] that is a bit
more advanced than the current recipe inside meta-agl in that it has
packages broken out... There's still some work to be done to enable amb
features via PKGCONFIG[foo], but I think it's a good start.
meta-agl has some not-yet-upstreamed patches, which you can still carry
with a bbappend recipe.
I'm about to start a personal project that will use it, so testing of the
layer is still immature, but should improve.

hi
dear kevron thanks for your message.
i already downloaded and installed the automotive message broker on my

i followed your instruction on the above mentioned page. i ran the cmake
with these commands
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
-DLIB_INSTALL_DIR=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu
-DINCLUDE_INSTALL_DIR=/usr/include ..
but after that when i typr amdb in terminal i get this error:
milad@milad-All-Series:~$ amdb
No command 'amdb' found, did you mean:
Command 'adb' from package 'android-tools-adb' (universe)
Command 'amd' from package 'am-utils' (universe)

ODBII interfaces
by Rodney Nunya
I recently found out that Linux supports CANBUS in the kernel.
Are you using this support with amb?
I see you mention scantool.net
I have yet to try but do their products work with the Canbus Socket drivers now included in the latest linux releases?
I own the SX scan tool (USB - OBDII)
And I also have a microOBD 200 module that will be hard wired into a vehicle and may add additional modules.
I also have some FreeScale i.mx6 quad boards that have canbus built into them. These boards are the similar to what now comes in the 2016 Cadillacs as the base for their linux based CUE IVI systems. I have to believe those two are accessible via linux through the Can - socket drivers now included in Linux?
I am curious because I want to hook up to both my newer vehicle and older vehicle and do some investigation via Wireshark but also start writing some IVI related software but want to insure I can use the hardware I already own or order compatible hardware if necissary.
Thanks!

Regarding obd2plugin and cansimpleplugin of AMB
by skocharl
Hi All,
I am seeing AMB as an abstraction over OBD and CAN ,Please correct me if I
am wrong
Has any body used the plugins/obd2plugin or plugins/cansimpleplugin source
code of AMB with any real OBD dongle or related devices like below
OBDLink MX
OBDLink S
OBDPro USB
If so what were the challenges ?
Could some body provide helping pointers on this ?
Thanks
