Thank Kai-Heng - fyi I am on Arch whereas the other user was on Ubuntu.
I'll add a comment to the other thread, but not sure it is the right place
either - maybe
kernel.org bugzilla but then I probably need more info to
explain why it is a kernel bug as I don't have any other symptoms affecting
the system (battery estimates and time remaining are fine)
